About Carol Phillips
Carol is a writer living in a home she built amid the woods of Central North Carolina where she enjoys the creek running by, the wrens who nest in her hanging flower baskets (and hang out in her garage during the winter), the deer who munch in her garden. She is actively involved with the local writing community and the North Carolina Writers Network. She also enjoys traveling around the U.S. and abroad, particularly on small ships.
Hit Over the Head
A Cautionary Tale
After Carol Phillips hits her head on a shelf in 1991, doctors assume her difficulties with talking, walking, and thinking stem from emotional problems. Prior to finally receiving the correct diagnoses of mild traumatic brain injury (MTBI) and fibromyalgia, she loses her job, her friends, and her family.
Finally understanding that she is sick and injured, Carol rebuilds her life, learning the value of forgiveness and the meaning of friendship based on trust and respect.
